Kiton's tailoring housewas founded in 1968 by Ciro Paone in beautiful Naples. "Chitone" is the origin of Kiton, which was the ceremonial tunic that was worn by the ancient Greeks whilst praying on Mount Olympus. Paone set up his tailoring school in his factory in Naples to educate future master Kiton tailors in the art of tailoring by hand.
Nowadays, Kiton stands head and shoulders above all other tailors when it comes to ready to wear men's tailoring. They produce approximately 20,000 suits per year using carefully selected fabrics chosen by their master craftsmen.
In addition to selling throughout Italy, KITON predominantly sells in North America. However, Kiton stores can also be seen in emerging fashion markets such as Russia, Dubai and in Asia, as one would expect of a world leading menswear brand.
Kiton's newest line, the "CIPA1960" is designed for younger clients, with a little "edge". These suits have a silhouette more becoming of younger clientele, whilst still retaining the exquisite craftsmanship of Kiton's tailors.
As well as being world famous for signature items such as in the Duke of Windsor collection, their 7 fold ties, hand made shoes and shirts, Kiton holds a unique position in luxury menswear for their Kiton K-50: one of the world's most specialist suits.
This is created exclusively by master tailor Enzo D’Oris and is reputed to be the most expensive men's suit in the world. Only fifty Kiton K-50s are made each year, as they take more than 50 hours to produce by hand.
