After browsing through the photos of the glamour set from that last few days of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, we came to the conclusion that the attire of the male attendees is rather "mixed", if one might say so.

From the 't-shirt with trainers' look of A-list movie star, Bradley Cooper, through to the chic bespoke English suits of UK royalty, the sartorial spectrum couldn't be broader.

Here at Sartoriale.com, we would stay somewhere in the middle on the formality scale of men's style. As we all like to dress up from time to time, this event offers a great opportunity to do just that.

Sartoria Partenopea Jacket

Sartoria Partenopea plaid linen jacket

Given that is a sports event, we think this lightweight, plaid jacket from Neapolitan Sartoria Partenopea nicely fits the bill. Bold checks are easier to pull off than one might first assume. The only prerequisite you must bear in mind is to tone down the rest of your outfit to the simple side and let the bold check jacket grab the headlines.

Kiton shirt & tie

A sky blue shirt (here from Kiton) lends the perfect background to the jacket, perfectly matching its colors.

A plain navy blue tie would possibly be the simple choice for this outfit. However, this striped Kiton seven fold silk tie (below) has an air of "sophisticated English gentleman" to it, whilst adding a light touch of summer exuberance and jolliness associated with the smiles of the Wimbledon crowd.

To keep the look on the more serious side, we would pair the jacket with some 'you can never go wrong with these' navy blue pants... this time from Sartoria Chiaia.

They allow the attention to fall on the smart combination up top, while at the same time, easily matching color-wise.

Kiton loafers

To finish off the combination, we would opt for a beige suede loafer from Kiton Napoli. A perfect shoe for smart casual occasions; they are as soft as butter and feel so light underfoot. They will get you through even the hottest summer day in an effortless way.

Dressed in this attention-grabbing outfit, if you happen to also be networking whilst rooting for your tennis favorites, you will ensure that you shall be remembered as the gentleman who knows about a sense of occasion, which seems to be a dying art these days.
